Why SendToSomalia exists
The Somalia corridor runs on two parallel systems: the hawala networks that have moved money to Somalia for decades, and the newer licensed digital services. Almost nothing written in English explains the two side by side — the operators each explain their own product, and the general comparison sites skip the corridor.
This site does that comparison, and explains how hawala actually works in plain language.
We are not a money-transfer operator and are not affiliated with any provider listed. Where a link earns us a commission, we say so on the how we are funded page.
How the data is kept current
WorldRemit and Wise publish their fees openly, so those are checked against the providers' own pages. Dahabshiil, Taaj and Amal require manual research and are reviewed monthly — every card shows its review date and, where one exists, its source.
